Liebe Lehrende der TU Dortmund,
in der vergangenen Woche ist das Sommersemester 2025 gestartet. Mit dieser Rundmail möchte ich Sie über aktuelle Themen zur Digitalisierung in der Lehre an der TU Dortmund informieren. Ein Fokus liegt dabei auf dem Thema KI und der Integration von KI in Studium und Lehre.
# Campus-KI
Seit Januar 2025 können alle Mitglieder der TU Dortmund über das Interface von Campus-KI kostenlos und anonym ChatGPT-4o nutzen (Meldung zu Campus-KI). Alle Informationen zu Campus-KI finden Sie im ServicePortal.
# Workshops zu Campus-KI
Um Ihnen oder Ihren Studierenden den Einstieg in Campus-KI zu erleichtern, finden weiterhin kurze Online-Workshops für Lehrende bzw. Studierende statt. In den Workshops steht die technische Einbindung Campus-KI bzw. ChatGPT in Studium und Lehre im Vordergrund. Mehrere Workshops werden auf Englisch angeboten.
# Strategie zur Digitalisierung von Studium und Lehre
Bereits im Januar wurde die Strategie der TU Dortmund zur Digitalisierung in Studium und Lehre veröffentlicht (Meldung zur Veröffentlichung). Grundlegend für die Strategie ist, dass sich die TU Dortmund weiterhin als Präsenzuniversität versteht, die die Begegnungen zwischen Lehrenden und Studierenden fördert. Dabei will sie jedoch zugleich zeitgemäß digitale Lehrangebote erproben, integrieren und hochschuldidaktisch fundiert weiterentwickeln. Ein besonderes Augenmerk legt die Strategie auf Künstliche Intelligenz, der ein eigenes Handlungsfeld gewidmet ist. Studierende sollen fachübergreifend den Umgang mit KI-Tools lernen und Veranstaltungen zum Thema KI besuchen können.
# Lehrexpedition
Am Dienstag, den 6. Mai 2025 von 9:00 bis 12:00 Uhr bietet die Lehrexpedition interessierten Lehrenden die Möglichkeit, zentrale Einrichtungen wie das IT- und Medien Centrum (ITMC), die Universitätsbibliothek oder das Zentrum für HochschulBildung (zhb) der TU Dortmund kennenzulernen und praxisnahe Einblicke in digitale Lehr- und Lernangebote zu erhalten. # Digital Lunch
Im aktuellen Sommersemester findet wieder an drei Terminen der Digital Lunch statt, der zum (informellen) Austausch zur digitalen Lehre genutzt werden kann. Der Fokus im Sommersemester liegt auch beim Themenkomplex KI. So findet der erste Austausch am 29. April 2025 zum Thema Campus-KI und die Integration von KI in Studium und Lehre statt. Es sollen die bereits gesammelten Erfahrungen diskutiert werden. Eine Übersicht über die Termine und die Themen finden Sie im Portal Digitale Lehre.
# Kurzworkshops zur Barrierefreiheit in der Lehre am GAAD
Am 15. Mai, dem internationalen Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD), haben Lehrende die Gelegenheit, in kompakten Workshops von maximal einer Stunde verschiedene Aspekte barrierefreier Lehre kennenzulernen und Impulse für die eigene Praxis mitzunehmen. Die Workshops werden vom Kompetenzzentrum Digitale Barrierefreiheit.nrw, Moodle.NRW, ILIAS.nrw gemeinsam mit Hochschulen in NRW organisiert. Auch die TU Dortmund ist mit eigenen Angeboten vertreten. Ab Mitte April finden Sie weitere Informationen zum Programm auf der Website des Kompetenzzentrums.
# Offene Sprechstunde
Die offene Sprechstunde für alle Fragen zur digitalen Unterstützung in der Lehre findet weiterhin täglich zwischen 14 und 15 Uhr per Zoom statt. Für Fragen zu den Themen Campus-KI bzw. KI in Studium und Lehre ist ab sofort immer der Mittwochnachmittag vorgesehen. Am Freitagnachmittag liegt der Fokus auf der Hochschuldidaktik für die digitale Lehre. Zusätzlich bietet das ITMC offene, hybride Sprechstunden am Vormittag an.

The summer semester 2025 started last week. With this email, I would like to keep you informed about current topics related to the digitalization of teaching at TU Dortmund University. One focus is on the topic of AI and the integration of AI into learning and teaching.
# Campus-AI
Since January 2025, all members of TU Dortmund University have been able to use ChatGPT-4o anonymously and free of charge via the Campus-AI interface (news about Campus-AI). For more information about Campus-AI, please visit the ServicePortal.
# Workshops on Campus-AI
To make it easier for you or your students to get started with Campus AI, short online workshops will continue to be held for teachers and students. The workshops will focus on the technical integration of campus AI and ChatGPT in studies and teaching. Several workshops are offered in English.
# Strategy for the digitization of teaching and learning
Back in January, TU Dortmund University’s strategy for the digitalization of and teaching (in German, English translation follows) was published (News of publication). The strategy is based on the fact that TU Dortmund University continues to see itself as a university that promotes in-person encounters between teachers and students. At the same time, it wants to experiment with, integrate, and further develop contemporary digital teaching offerings in a pedagogically sound manner. A special focus of the strategy is on Artificial Intelligence, which has its own field of action. Students should learn how to use AI tools across disciplines and attend events on the topic of AI.
# Lehrexpedition
On Tuesday, 6 May, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the „Lehrexpedition“ (Teaching Expedition) offers interested teachers the opportunity to get to know central facilities such as the IT and Media Center (ITMC), the University Library or the
Center for Higher Education (zhb) at TU Dortmund University and to gain practical insights into digital teaching and learning opportunities. Further information can be found in the flyer (in German). You can now register for the event.
# Digital Lunch
The Digital Lunch, in which you can exchange ideas on digital teaching, is taking place again on three dates in the current summer semester. The focus in the summer semester is also on AI. The first exchange will take place at on 29 April on the topic of Campus-AI and the integration of AI into learning and teaching. The experiences already gained will be discussed. # Short workshops on accessibility in teaching at the GAAD
On 15 May, the international Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD), teachers will have the opportunity to learn about various aspects of accessible teaching in compact workshops lasting no more than one hour and take away ideas for their own practice. The workshops are organized by the Competence Center for digital Accessibility (called Barrierefreiheit.nrw), Moodle.NRW, ILIAS.nrw together with universities in NRW. TU Dortmund University also contributes to the program. From mid-April you will find further information about the program on the website of the Competence Center (in German).
# Open consultation hour
The open consultation hours for all questions about digital support in teaching will continue to take place daily between 2 and 3 p.m. via Zoom. From now on, Wednesday afternoons will always be reserved for questions on the topics of Campus-AI and AI in studies and teaching. On Friday afternoons, the focus is on didactics for digital teaching. In addition, the ITMC offers open, hybrid consultation hours in the morning.
